The year was 1997. The economy was humming. The stock market was still rationally exuberant. The Indians were about to play in the World Series. Things were good. But then they got better. A talented young marketing maven was just setting out on his own. He had a twinkle in his eye, a few borrowed office supplies and a kitchen table. From the start, his new agency of one caught on. He quickly added clients, purchased equipment and discovered the joys of paying quarterly taxes. Eventually the economy changed its tune, rational exuberance turned irrational and the Indians came up short.
